Roland is a retired Army Command Sergeant Major. He retired in 1991. During his 25 years of military service, he served one tour in Vietnam, two tours in Europe, one tour in Korea along with numerous other stateside assignments. Roland is the recipient of three Purple Hearts in March, May and July of 1968 while assigned to F Troop, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse) in Vietnam .

      Today 

Roland was also employed with the Deparment of Veterans Affairs for a number of years before completely retiring in January of 2007.  He now spends a lot of time on the golf course, volunteering as a golf coach for children with “The First Tee,” and keeping house.
